Overview of the role

Reporting into the Pharmacy Services Manager, you’ll be working within our Pharmacy Services Team supporting on of the largest Community Pharmacy programmes in the UK. Working with our Pharmacies to support the autumn booster vaccination services, you’ll...

Review contractual opportunities for pharmacy services and make recommendations to senior management on their viability and participation. Liaise with external and internal stakeholders to collaborate and effectively facilitate the contract sign-off process. Provide a point of contact to commissioners and field/pharmacy teams via email and telephone, resolving queries relating to agreed frameworks. Use knowledge of commissioned services to provide relevant information and support to enable delivery of high-quality pharmacy services.

We have 2 opportunities to join the team:

1x full time 37.5 hours/5 days a week

1x part time 30 hours/4 days a week

Main Responsibility

Contract Governance

  • Review commissioned service opportunities and submit tenders in line with the business framework, undertaking a viability assessment to make informed decisions. Present comprehensive and relevant information making recommendations to the senior management about proposed action.
  • Liaise with pharmacies and field teams to capture information and provide updates on service provision.
  • Ensure efficient management of the agreed contract management process including the supporting of accurate financial mapping.
  • Manage financial invoicing and purchase orders for all services related activity, working with relevant departments where necessary.
  • Maintain accurate records of contracts under review, in progress and declined.

Stakeholder management

  • Liaise with field team to assess opportunities and agree participation in commissioned services.
  • Collate pharmacy information, populate contracts and liaise with commissioners to ensure contracts are processed in a timely manner.   
  • Ensure that pharmacy teams have appropriate information and resources to deliver agreed services to a high standard.
  • Use specialist knowledge to resolve queries relating to commissioned services, maintaining records of advice given.
  • Maintain Services Hub pages with accurate, simple and relevant information. Review and update guidance based on feedback and queries received.
  • Develop specialist knowledge in clinical, claiming and reporting systems, supporting the business in understanding capabilities and appropriate use.
  • Manage the Services mailboxes, ensuring that messages are responded to in line with the SLA, or where appropriate escalated to the appropriate person for action.

Maintaining accurate records

  • Review and accurately update and maintain internal databases and produce compliance and management reports as agreed.
  • Record and collate data, supporting Services Lead to identify areas of potential growth or challenge.

Other responsibilities

  • Support the NHS Contract Standards team in the implementation of projects and initiatives e.g. PQS, national Flu and vaccination programmes.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Ability to respond quickly to changing deadlines and tasks.
  • Good communication written and oral skills with an ability to build strong rapport with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to organise and prioritise own work to meet agreed deadlines.
  • Good knowledge of NHS contracts relating to pharmacy services is desirable but not essential
