A Co-ordinator role with a difference!
Working in a warehouse environment our digital pharmacy team are based within our state of the art distribution Healthcare Services Centre in Stoke. Our Care Home Co-ordinator is a non-customer facing role within the pharmacy but will liaise over emails & phones so perfect for candidates who prefer to work behind the scenes and focus on specialised tasks that support our patients and customers.
What you’ll do…
Utilising your experience in a Community Pharmacy as our Care Home Co-ordinators you'll liaise between care homes, surgeries and the pharmacy team to co-ordinate the supply of monthly medication required by care homes residents. You'll also ensure that interim medication is directed through the most appropriate route of fulfilment.
An important part of the role is ensuring we maintain records and professional standards to ensure patient safety standards are met.
As well as the ongoing co-ordination of our care homes day to day needs, Care Home Co-ordinators ensure a smooth transition for new care homes and residents by pro-actively obtaining all necessary information and effectively onboarding the care home and surgery.

Our digital pharmacy is a distant selling pharmacy which means the patients don’t enter the premises but interact via our customer service team and the technology that supports the services. Our digital pharmacy has the second largest number of patients in the UK nominated to a single pharmacy, distributing circa 130,000 items every month currently and this is growing!

Main Responsibility
Main Responsibilities
- To be responsible for the relationship between care home and Digital Pharmacy
- To support care homes to order their medication on time
- Cross referencing prescriptions we receive from surgeries with what the care home are expecting.
- Following up with surgeries to resolve missing prescriptions
- To maintain care home and patient records with any changes, additions and important information
- To direct urgent interim items through the most appropriate route of fulfilment
- To work with surgeries where an item has ongoing supply issues
- Responsible for providing MARs either in paper or electronic form for all items supplied to a care home
- Responsible for efficiently responding to email and phone calls between care home, surgeries and other healthcare bodies
- Raising IT issues and working with the team to resolve
- Raising patient safety or professional concerns with the responsible pharmacist
- Responsible for setting up new care homes and patients
- Responsible for co-ordinating the transition of a new home in to Digital Pharmacy
The Ideal Candidate
Key knowledge and skills
- Experience in a pharmacy environment
- Computer literate
- Ability to communicate at different levels, such as members of the public or professional bodies
- Pleasant, polite and professional telephone manner
- Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
- Accuracy and ability to follow instructions
Problem solving and change
- Awareness of impacts to 'on time and in full deliveries to the customer as well as an in-depth understanding of customer complaints and appropriate resolution
- Through first-hand experience of customer issues you are able to actively look for root cause and opportunities to prevent re-occurance
- By embracing continuous improvement initiatives, this role can deliver value for the customer resulting in a higher satisfaction ratings
