Finance Analyst

Main Responsibility

Key Responsibilities

Management Information & Reporting

  • Act as the focal point for personnel MI across the retail operation, turning large data sets into meaningful insights.

  • Deliver accurate and timely weekly and monthly reporting, including store contribution reports.

  • Maintain data quality, ensuring policies are followed and any issues are resolved quickly.

  • Respond to stakeholder requests promptly and professionally.

Business Partnering

  • Work closely with senior finance business partners and operational leaders to understand and challenge performance.

  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and key external stakeholders.

Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Support the preparation of personnel budgets and forecasts in partnership with finance and operations.

  • Serve as a key contact for the MaxE resource planning model, updating measures with input from internal and external parties.

Month-End & Performance Tracking

  • Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts.

  • Report and track budget performance, producing timely variance analysis and highlighting key cost drivers.

  • Contribute to wider finance projects and initiatives as required.

About You

We’re looking for someone who can combine strong technical skills with commercial acumen, including:

  • Part-qualified accountant (or working towards qualification) and/or experience in payroll finance.

  • Excellent analytical skills with strong attention to detail.

  • Advanced Excel skills and confident communication abilities.

  • Experience with Power BI or other data visualisation tools.

  • Familiarity with resource planning models.

  • Ability to build and sustain strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.

  • Confidence in working with high volumes of data and presenting clear, actionable insights.
