Graduate Financial Accountant

Overview of the role

As a Graduate Financial Accountant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the finance function by providing analytical and operational support. Working closely with the wider finance team, you will contribute to the effective management of the company’s financial performance. Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of financial activities, including financial analysis, reporting, accounting, and control. The role is hybrid working with 3 days in the office, and 2 days working from home.

Main Responsibility

  • Be a key part of a comprehensive financial accounting service, supporting the team to ensure that reports/accounts are produced to meet management/financial reporting and statutory requirements.
  • To assist in the preparation of all statutory requirements, including statutory accounts, VAT submissions, and corporation tax.
  • To assist in the year end accounting process, supporting the completion of the deconsolidation of the group to the individual statutory entities, ensuring the accounting for each individual entity is accurate.
  • To assist the preparation of the year end reporting to Bestway of the consolidated Bestway Healthcare group result.
  • To prepare the monthly and quarterly group reporting for submission to Bestway.
  • To support and liaise with our tax advisors.
  • To help manage the external audit and ensure that all queries are quickly responded to.
  • To review balance sheet reconciliations, alongside the preparation of various centrally prepared balance sheet reconciliations and facilitate the period end checklist.
  • To support the finance team with ad hoc duties.

Key knowledge and skills required for the role:

  • Strong academic record, with a minimum 2:1 degree.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrate enthusiasm and a strong desire to learn and develop within a finance career.
  • Opportunity to support with study towards gaining chartered accountancy qualifications ACA / ACCA
