Hours: Full-Time (Split: 3 days NMP Lead / 2 days IP Practice) The 2 days IP Practice could be in other healthcare settings

We’re excited to offer a unique opportunity for a passionate pharmacist Independent Prescriber who wants to combine clinical leadership with hands-on prescribing practice. Join us as our Non-Medical Prescribing (NMP) Lead, working 3 days a week as part of our dynamic People Team, while continuing to work as a Pharmacist Independent Prescriber (PIP).

 

In this hybrid role, you’ll help shape and grow safe, effective prescribing services across our organisation, while staying close to what you love—delivering great care to patients.

 

What You’ll Be Doing

 

Clinical Governance & Leadership

Ensure IP practices across the organisation are safe, effective, and aligned with clinical governance frameworks.

  • Monitor, audit, and standardise prescribing practices UK-wide.
  • Develop IP strategy and embed frameworks develop clinical knowledge and IP skills amongst prescribers 
  • Lead audits, review safety incidents, and develop SOPs and policies.
  • Oversee IP service delivery, site sign-ups, and payment claims.
  • Be the go-to expert for stakeholders across pharmacy, training providers, and regulators.

 Communication & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Act as the main point of contact for all things IP—before, during, and after qualification.
  • Build strong internal and external relationships with prescribers, regulators, training partners, and service teams.
  • Communicate updates, policies, and best practices clearly and effectively.

Support & Development

  • Help remove barriers for new and existing prescribers—whether it’s training, confidence, or resource access.
  • Building our internal DPP network to support new IPP’s
  • Support prescribers in safely expanding their scope of practice.
  • Ensure systems are in place to raise concerns or escalate to professional bodies when needed.

Independent Prescribing in Practice (2 Days)

  • Stay clinically current by working 2 days per week in an active prescribing role (within Well or externally).
  • Deliver high-quality, patient-centred care that keeps you engaged and informed with day-to-day practice realities.

 

What You’ll Bring

Must-Haves:

  • GPhC-registered pharmacist and qualified Independent Prescriber
  • Strong understanding of prescribing governance, NHS frameworks, and clinical risk management.
  • Experience in leading or influencing prescribing services or policy.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

 

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Experience in prescriber training or enrolment support.
  • Familiarity with IP frameworks across different UK nations.
  • Passion for developing people and improving clinical services.
