Sales Manager

Overview of the role

To develop relationships and secure large and profitable repeat orders of pharmaceutical sales across both independent, regional and national pharmacies for Lexon Southern Ireland product range.

To maintain a database of all customers with contractual details, set monthly pricing & Customer pricelists, placing replenishment orders based on usage, service level agreements to get good shipped. To review and report on management information, identifying trends and proposing actions to improve sales, margin and customer relationships.

Main Responsibility

  • To identify and prioritise prospective new independent, regional and national multiple customers. Gain access to key decision makers and owners of pharmacies s, secure significant orders, thereby taking market share from our competitors whilst securing minimum the budgeted margin.
  • Initiate, manage and develop strategic relationships with customers and colleagues to improve business success and ensure achievement of budgeted revenue targets and SLA’s. Ensure key stakeholders are aligned to the development programme and action owners are aware of key dependencies and milestones.
  • Assist in the development of the Wholesale strategy including product range and pricing models to maximise sales and profit for the business. Plan and execute an efficient and effective contact strategy to optimise efficiency and opportunity by account.
  • Develop and build our business by high standards of customer service, to ensure an ever growing and increasingly profitable customer base, via a combination of monthly tenders and “next day” business.
  • To maintain a database of all customers with contractual details, set monthly pricing & Customer pricelists, raise replenishment orders based on usage, service level agreements to get good shipped and appropriate metrics. To review and report on management information, identifying trends and proposing actions to improve sales, margin and customer relationships.
  • Where requested represent the company at industry events.
  • Implement effective channels of communication with sales colleagues and the buying team, so that the effective use of market intelligence makes our customer proposition grow stronger and more compelling.
  • Maintain operational and system processes and ways of working which are customer focus, efficient, compliant with policy and legislation and timely.
  • Implement a robust business retention programme to ensure all retention targets are achieved for their designated area

Key knowledge and skills required:

  • Evidence of developing a customer base composed of regional multiple customers and maintaining relationships at a high level
  • Can evidence a successful period of new business development
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Ability to develop rapport quickly
  • Numerate and competent with excel
  • Has excellent attention to detail

Problem solving & Change:

  • Complexity of monthly tender and customer needs, requiring a balance of profit for our business against need to win business
  • Maintaining customer supply chain – orderly stock replenishment and moving to reflect market pricing to get customer coverage.
  • Creates regional and national multiple customer plans on a quarterly and annual basis
  • Negotiation around many lines with profit on the basket of products being key
  • Working to monthly, quarterly and annual targets, with performance reviewed monthly/quarterly
  • Adapting pricing models for each customer
