Finance Business Partner - Wholesale

Overview of the role

To be the mid-level finance business partner within the wholesale area of the business. Supporting senior stakeholders to create and manage business plans and budgets across multiple departments and forecast future needs using a long-term planning process to make informed decisions that improve company performance. Working for the Director of Finance for Wholesale to oversee the organisation’s long-term financial health as the business grows.

Main Responsibility

  • Finance Business Partner for Lexon Ireland, Key Pharma, Assurex, Dispex and Pharmdata
  •  Finance Business Partner for the Buying team, supporting with analysis, PI reporting, stock reporting and helping them understand the financial impact of commercial buying decisions
  • To build out the budgets into zero base form and ensure actuals are tracked at right level for the newly acquired businesses to support ongoing variance analysis and business insights.
  • To create the right data sets and analysis around the portfolio of products already in place so we can see the CGUs and their future potential – will be required for commercial reasons and audit.
  • To create the right reporting set for the business to manage and monitor performance. Getting them into self-serve via Anaplan and using Group process and conventions.
  • To embed ‘Well’ governance into the newly acquired entities (segregation of duties, SAO processes, financial insights and governance) with support from the Group FC – driving consistency across the group.
  • To deliver accurate and timely forecasts and annual zero-based budgets in partnership with the senior team and in line with group requirements.
  • To deliver accurate and timely insights on weekly, monthly and other frequency so we can drive business performance to maximum possibility.
  • To create market driven insights to help shape discussion on performance and bring outside in insights.
  • To highlight growth opportunities and support the business in accessing them and driving them into realised profits
  • To protect the group from surprises and shocks to the finances by effective planning and three statement insight
  • To ensure tasks which support our license to trade are properly completed (audit, MHRA analysis, customer insights etc).
  • To consider investments via payback (discounted and non, ROI and other mechanisms) creating proper measurable benefits and project analysis.
  • To guide and support less senior members of the finance team.

Key knowledge and skills required:

  • ACCA or CIMA part qualified or experience qualified.
  • Should understand and be able to lead the business through complex financial concepts and accounting - giving them simple advice and layman language
  • Is able to set up processes and ensure bookkeeping and analytics are set up simply and easily.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to manipulate and create insights and so what’s on large sets of data – experience with Power BI, excel and other analytical tools.
  • Ability to work across three financial statements both to interrogate and to forecast forward.
  • Organised, methodological and deadline / output driven.
