About the Role
We’re looking for a customer-focused Micro Space Planner to join our Space Planning team and play a key role in driving commercial success through effective, efficient, and innovative merchandising. You'll create detailed planograms that meet both customer expectations and business needs, with the aim of increasing sales and improving operational efficiencies across our circa 700 branches nationwide.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality, coherent micro space planograms that align with business and customer objectives.
Continuously challenge and evolve merchandising techniques and equipment, benchmarking against industry best practices.
Work closely with the Space Assistant to review planogram performance and influence range decisions for profitability.
Adhere to Range Review Calendar deadlines and manage regular planogram updates including monthly code changes.
Represent the Space Planning team in promotional planning meetings, delivering relevant planograms as needed.
Manage the mock shop environment and oversee the storage and organisation of fixtures and display products.
Drive improved communication and understanding of planograms to branches across the network.
Support store initiatives and trials in collaboration with the wider Commercial team.
Provide support on macro space queries in the absence of the Macro Space Planner.
Navigate the complexities of a business grown through acquisition, with a wide variety of store layouts and fixture types.
Skills & Experience Required
Proficient in JDA (Category Management Software).
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work across all business levels.
Proven ability to influence stakeholders and challenge decisions constructively.
Solid understanding of retail branch operations and merchandising principles.
Excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise under pressure.
Experience working in a merchandising, retail planning, or similar role.
