Pricing Analyst

Overview of the role

Work as part of the Bestway Medhub and Wardles Commercial team to drive performance through effective leveraging of price and effective maintenance of the product range. Carry out daily maintenance of the wholesale product range and pricing in line with the commercial strategy. Analyse, interpret and present conclusions from internal and external data sources to ensure a data driven approach to pricing. Maintain and report on internal and external commercial key performance indicators relating to pricing and product range. Support senior stakeholders through commercial insight and analysis. Liaise with and between the sales and procurement functions to gather key market information.

Main Responsibility

  • Perform daily pricing analysis on all wholesale product categories using internal and external data in order to execute data driven pricing changes at product level.
  • Maintain the product range for all wholesale product categories in collaboration with the procurement and sales team.
  • Ownership of Pricing and Product Range KPI’s and reporting relevant to:
  • Key internal efficiency metrics, such as margin rate, average account spend and tote fill.
  • Key external benchmarking measures, such as product win rates.
  • Identify and assess the commercial viability of new product opportunities to increase the Medhub and Wardles product range.
  • Support in the development and implementation of process changes relating to pricing and range management.
  • Support through the sharing of key pricing and range information in the monthly forecasting of all wholesale product categories.
  • Liaise with the sales teams to gather customer and market pricing information.
  • Liaise with the buying teams to gather product level market and supplier information.

  • A self-starter comfortable using own initiative at times where parameters are undefined or undeveloped.
  • Able to learn and adapt quickly to new business processes.

Key knowledge and skills required for the role:

  • Commercial understanding of key business drivers and financially astute.
  • Strong knowledge of Excel 
  • Able to build and maintain successful cross functional working relationships.
  • Ability to work both on one’s own initiative and as part of a team.
  • Self-starter who can organise a diverse workload with changing priorities.
  • Appreciation of business sensitive matters and adherence to confidentially requirements.
  • Previous data, analytics, and business insight experience and/or industry experience a bonus.
