Warehouse Operative - Goods in

Main Responsibility

  • Locate consignments to be checked and move to work station.
  • Open consignments and separate into separate products.
  • Scan 2D barcodes using a hand-held scanner.
  • Where no 2D barcode is applied 100 % batch and expiry check on all batches
  • Verification of received stock on different Authorised websites.
  • Check one batch of product at a time paying special attention to:
  1. Quantity
  2. Batch number
  3. Expiry date
  4. Supplier details
  5. Anti-tamper devices (ATD)
  6. Carton seals
  • Report to Line Manager if stock is incorrect, missing, out of date, damaged or dirty.
  • Report to Line Manager and QA anything suspicious that could imply a falsified medicine.
  • Create electronic product processing records.
  • Carry out authenticity checks according to the Master Reference File.
  • Work with other Goods-In Assistants to carry out independent checks on their consignments.
  • For non-pharma stock carry out quantity checks and compare a sample to the Master Reference File (MRF).
  • Complete paperwork accurately, legibly and on time.
  • Liaise with Production QC to resolve any issues regarding quantity of stock.  
  • Quarantine stock, as appropriate, when it cannot be processed further.
  • Ensure work areas are maintained in a neat and clean state.
  • Participate in any reasonable task requested by a Supervisors/Manager.
  • Work closely with all Supervisors/Managers to ensure that all objectives are achieved.

Key knowledge and skills required:

  • Previous Warehouse experience required
