Overview of the role

As Commercial Finance Business Partner, you will play a key role in forecasting, reporting and influencing the financial and commercial outcomes in two Wholesale business units, Medhub and Wardles

This is a key role in the Wholesale Finance team supporting the Business Units to unlock value and drive business performance through insight, action and accountability. 

Main Responsibility

  • Work collaboratively with Wholesale colleagues as a valued and trusted advisor, and provide support and challenge to their initiatives and opportunities
  • Ensure delivery of timely and high quality analysis and reporting through working closely with other finance colleagues across Well
  • Drive performance of the business by identified opportunities and engaging the commercial teams.
  • Track and provide analysis to support delivery of acquisition synergies by working collaboratively with data teams and commercial teams
  • Provide analysis and reporting on market share position
  • Provide critical decision-making recommendations, balance support with probing and constructive challenge, and clearly and concisely explain key reporting and insight on profitability and KPI’s
  • Meet relevant forecast and budget deadlines with high levels of accuracy and detail
  • Ensure month end accounts are accurate and representative of true performance working alongside shared service centre
  • Support adhoc queries and requests from financial and non financial colleagues
  • Support and attendance at Commercial Management meetings
  • Support, challenge and provide analysis to influence the commercial leadership team

Key knowledge and skills required:

  • Qualified Accountant (CIMA / ACCA / ACA)
  • Non Finance & Finance Stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills, with ability to build and maintain effective internal and external relationships
  • Confident with ability to constructively challenge to drive performance
  • Highly analytical with financial awareness and commercial acumen
  • Excellent computer, report building (Power BI), excel and data analysis skills

Problem Solving & Change:

  • Provide Insight and meaningful analysis into Wholesale performance, identify areas of underperformance/focus, provide content, identify opportunities and make recommendations to drive long term performance improvements.
  • Work at pace, make decisions and resolve problems quickly, demonstrate initiative
  • Will be required to work on weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual planning horizons
