Overview of the role

Shape the Future of Learning

We are looking for a creative, organised and digitally-minded Digital Learning Specialist to lead the development and continuous improvement of our digital learning platforms.

In this role, you will take ownership of our Learning Management System (LMS), Well Academy and all associated digital learning content. You will play a key part in making sure learning across our pharmacy, wholesale and retail teams is engaging, accessible, compliant and easy to use.

What You’ll Be Doing

Own and Develop Our LMS

  • Manage the day-to-day administration and optimisation of the LMS, including permissions, system configuration and troubleshooting.
  • Monitor system performance, learner engagement and compliance through reporting and analytics.
  • Maintain data accuracy and system integrity.
  • Work with IT teams and external LMS providers to implement enhancements and new functionality.
  • Identify trends and opportunities to improve learner engagement and platform performance.

Lead the Development of Well Academy

You will manage and evolve our Well Academy platform, including learning pathways for:

  • Independent Prescribing Academy
  • Pharmacy Technician Academy
  • Foundation Training Academy
  • Newly Qualified Pharmacist Academy
  • Leadership Academy for Regional Managers and Pharmacy Managers

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Designing clear, structured learning journeys that support colleagues at every stage of their development.
  • Keeping content and learning pathways up to date and relevant.
  • Ensuring all learning aligns with regulatory and compliance requirements.
  • Creating a platform experience that is engaging, organised and easy to navigate.

Create Outstanding Digital Learning Content

  • Design and build digital learning materials, including e-learning modules, SCORM content, microlearning, videos and graphics.
  • Develop practical resources such as best practice toolkits and learning guides.
  • Create learning experiences that cater to different learning styles and preferences.
  • Work closely with subject matter experts across operations, pharmacy, wholesale, legal and risk teams.

Deliver Compliance Learning

You will take end-to-end ownership of mandatory and compliance-related learning, including:

  • Mandatory training programmes such as Fire Safety, Data Protection, Safeguarding and Fraud Awareness.
  • The review and release of SOPs on a two-year cycle.
  • Best in Class modules.
  • Accreditation and CPD tracking.

Support Apprenticeship Programmes

Working alongside the Leadership Development Partner, you will help manage the digital administration of apprenticeship programmes by:

  • Monitoring learner progress.
  • Uploading and maintaining learning activities.
  • Tracking off-the-job learning hours.
  • Managing digital evidence and learner portfolios.
  • Ensuring compliance with ESFA funding rules.
  • Working with external training providers and supporting apprenticeship audits.

Drive Continuous Improvement

  • Improve the user experience across all digital learning spaces so they are intuitive, engaging and easy to use.
  • Manage relationships with LMS providers, content suppliers and apprenticeship partners.
  • Lead on accessibility standards and ensure all learning meets WCAG and inclusive learning requirements.
  • Support internal learning campaigns and communications.
  • Maintain training calendars, content schedules and version control.

What We’re Looking For

We’d love to hear from you if you have:

  • Experience administering and developing Learning Management Systems.
  • Strong instructional design and digital content creation skills.
  • Experience creating e-learning content using tools such as SCORM.
  • Confidence using data, reporting and analytics to improve learning outcomes.
  • Strong project management and stakeholder management skills.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively across teams.
  • A passion for creating engaging, accessible and impactful learning experiences.

Experience within pharmacy, healthcare or a regulated environment would be an advantage, but is not essential.
