Overview of the role
Field-Based (UK-Wide Travel Required)
£45,000–£50,000 + Car Allowance
We are seeking a proactive and engaging Operations Implementation Manager to join our growing operations team and play a key role in delivering operational improvements across a nationwide pharmacy network of over 650 locations.
This is a highly visible, hands-on role that bridges the gap between the Support Centre and field operations, supporting the implementation of key operational projects aligned to our 5-year strategic plan. The successful candidate will combine strong analytical capability with exceptional stakeholder management skills and track record for operational excellence.
The Role
As an Operations Implementation Manager, you will act as the operational link between field teams, internal departments, and key stakeholders. You’ll spend approximately 3 days per week in the pharmacies, working directly with pharmacy teams to identify opportunities, improve processes, and support operational delivery.
You will help drive operational efficiency, strengthen compliance, improve stock management processes, and ensure projects are implemented effectively across the business.
Key Responsibilities
Field Engagement & Operational Execution
- Act as the on-the-ground operational representative across pharmacy locations
- Identify operational gaps and implement improvements within pharmacies
- Reduce reliance on Field Teams by taking ownership of:
-Project delivery support
-Validation and testing activities
-Process creation and documentation
- Build strong working relationships with field teams and maintain consistent engagement
Stakeholder & Relationship Management
- Serve as a key liaison between field teams, external partners, and internal departments including IT, Payroll, and Care Homes
- Manage operational queries and improve communication across functions
- Support cross-functional collaboration and contribute to wider business objectives
- Present updates and recommendations confidently to key stakeholders
Process Improvement & Compliance
- Take ownership of operational compliance processes
- Identify and resolve inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and workflow challenges
- Improve documentation standards, internal communication, and operational procedures
- Support approval and sign-off process improvements
Data Analysis & Performance Optimisation
- Analyse operational and stock data to identify trends and improvement opportunities
- Support performance tracking and optimisation initiatives
- Use operational insights to support business decision-making and drive efficiencies
Stock & Operational Support
- Support stock management processes and resolve discrepancies alongside Retail Assets Solutions
- Handle operational queries relating to stock and field activity
- Drive initiatives to reduce stock levels and improve operational control
- Support broader operational areas including care homes and payroll-related initiatives
About You
We are looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, multi-site operational environment and enjoys building strong relationships across teams.
Skills & Experience
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience supporting operational improvement projects
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Ability to write clear processes and operational documentation
- Comfortable presenting to senior stakeholders
- Experience within retail, pharmacy, healthcare, or multi-site operations is advantageous

Practical Requirements
- Field-based role with travel required approximately 3 days per week
- Covering approx. 300 pharmacies
- Comfortable with regular overnight stays
- Full UK driving licence required
- Able to manage travel-related expenses including hotels and mileage
