Overview of the role
Partnering with stakeholders across the business to create learning materials, specialising in online content, that enable colleagues to meet regulatory requirements and develop their skills. Accountable for the design, development, implementation and management of digital learning solutions. Responsible for the control, monitoring and utilisation of the Learning Management System (LMS) and all its capabilities.
The role is hybrid working with 3 days in Manchester and 2 days working from home
Main Responsibility
- Responsible for the supplier relationship for the LMS and any other digital learning tools e.g. Page Tiger
- Work with relevant stakeholders to develop and manage People Development digital projects
- Design and build digital learning solutions (including eLearning) that support our colleagues across the business & be accountable for the full design process of projects from start to finish
- Ensure all new eLearning modules are appropriately tested, launched, implemented and evaluated
- Provide the day-to-day administration of our LMS when needed, such as managing courses (online and F2F), creating reports, troubleshooting content issues
- Effectively manage SMEs and key stakeholders, to effectively convey learning concepts and ideas, and challenge where necessary
- Work with wider People Development team and internal teams such as comms, to ensure new learning solutions are implemented effectively and through the right channels
- Research future technological developments as required to meet business needs and take responsibility for the subsequent implementation and management of new L&D tech tools
- Provide support to wider team where required for co-ordination of courses etc through the LMS.
- Builds practical knowledge of digital training approaches & tools that support a culture of continuous learning
- Embedding governance, new design processes & SOPs within Digital Learning alongside brand guidelines & QA processes over time
- Work with key stakeholders and SMEs to create a review schedule that ensures all digital content is up-to-date and continues to meet business needs
- Provide support to resolve LMS and eLearning module queries to colleagues across all areas of the business that have been escalated
- Ensure growing positive perception of career development opportunities/job related training as measured by Big Colleague Survey
- Manage costs within the People Development budget
Problem solving & change:
- Proactively sets goals and plans to deliver against performance and personal objectives whilst demonstrating a positive and flexible approach.
- Prioritises workload to meet the core needs of the programmes to include daily, monthly and annual responsibilities as well as short defined and unplanned tasks
- Is innovative and pragmatic in their approach and possess the ability to make sound decisions, sometimes with limited information, influencing stakeholders as required.
- Inputting in to a 3-5 year People Development strategy that is aligned to People Plan
Key knowledge and skills required for the role:
- Strong digital design interventions: Storyboard etc.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Strong understanding of L&D principles of design and delivery
- Good IT, planning and organisational skills
- Excellent knowledge of learning management systems: Kineo
