Overview of the role
Reporting into our Deputy Superintendent Pharmacist and part of our Patient Safety team you'll use in-depth knowledge of NHS regulation and terms of service across all nations. You'll be responsible for providing information and developing tools for the business to deliver against current pharmacy contracts. You'll also be part of the development of/and support the implementation of services across all nations that enables our pharmacies to maximise revenue opportunities whilst minimising risk of sanctions.
Main Responsibility
Delivery of the NHS contract and service elements of the Pharmacy Superintendent’s Team business plan including John Bell & Croydon.
This includes:
- Develop support resources and provide advice to pharmacies and field management in relation to NHS contract developments.
- Support with the development and implementation of NHS commissioned pharmacy services.
- Investigate and respond to NHS queries including contract Remedial and Breach Notices.
- Working closely with the NHS Business Partner to support pharmacies and field managers with contract monitoring requirements.
- Develop support resources and provide advice to pharmacies and field manager to ensure appropriate governance including but not limited NHS contract including pharmacy quality schemes, ad-hoc contract monitoring, post-payment verification.
- Review data to identify risks/trends in contract monitoring or pharmacy behaviours and feed into the Governance Review / future guidance.
- Support in the writing of SOPs, guidance documents and keeping relevant resources and training materials up to date.
- Support the maintenance of pharmacy practice leaflets.
- Provide advice and support resources for NHS platforms across all nations including NHS Mail and Smartcards.
- Ensure that relevant waste licenses are maintained for England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
- Brief the Retail Support team about contract activity that may lead to pharmacy queries and support them to answer complex queries relating to the NHS Contract and services.
- Support with NHS contract matters relating to acquisitions, new contracts and closures.
The Ideal Candidate
- Professional registered with the GPhC
- Good knowledge of pharmacy processes
- Experience of working to multiple key objectives, managing own work & able to adapt to unexpected situations
- Able to communicate ideas and activities to pharmacies and field managers
