Overview of the role
- Operational Lead, subject matter expert (SME) and owner of all NHS stock processes, systems, documentation and mapping in order to achieve consistency for Pharmacy Operations.
- Responsible for preparation and development of value adding reports to inform the Operational Management team and for review by relevant key stake holders.
- Works to understand the market and competitor operating models to proactively update and improve business delivery and engagement and direction.
- Partners with L&D and internal communications to ensure training material is accessible and available.
- Manages key stakeholders through effective meeting management, communication and reporting
- Collaborates with business partner areas to develop fit for purpose processes and systems and ensure all processes/activities/communications are delivered to pharmacy ‘right first time’ and meet stakeholder requirements
- Partner with Retail Support Team to ensure they are briefed and are aware of any new and updated processes to support with query management and call handling
- Work with the Communications and Efficiency Manager and Senior Data Analyst to deliver change appropriately in pharmacies whilst maintaining capacity. Decisions will be supported by a review of the payroll model to understand the impact and realise gains through efficiency where appropriate
- Proactively develop communication channels between central teams and pharmacy teams to ensure generation of ideas and feedback
- Design and implement a stock dashboard, reporting platform accessible to Pharmacies, Field Leaders and Support Centre Stakeholders
- Developing commercial recommendations and proposals within a broader operations strategy
- Impacting change on an annual timescale with regular review, contributing to the Operations Plan
- Wide variation of pharmacy locations, market conditions to be considered as part of analysis to inform thinking around presenting problems, areas for improvement, recommendations and business development ideas.
- Qualified Pharmacy Assistant with good knowledge of pharmacy operations and would ideally be aware of Well Pharmacy’s operating model, including all processes, systems & policies linked to stock
- Advanced knowledge of NHS stock process and management.
- Knowledge of competitor pharmacy operating models and stock management systems
- Excellent organisational and planning skills
- Keeps briefed on new to market systems and ideas to improve pharmacy stock operations and reporting
- Stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills, with ability to build and maintain internal & external relationships and to challenge senior business leaders.
Main Responsibility
Support the Optimization and Efficiency Manager in devising and implementing programmes to improve and simplify operational processes, systems and reporting ensuring risks are managed in line with budget. Influence future Pharmacy Operating Model (POM) and commercial decisions based on data driven insight and ways of working.
