Overview of the role
To support business growth and efficiencies by developing and maintaining internal applications.
Identify, design, test and install internally developed software from the ground up.
Actively participate in the production of software including integration with other system components suggesting areas for improvement where technology can support an operational process.
Main Responsibility
- Understanding users’ requirements for new applications or changes to current internally developed programs.
- Collaborating with other developers and the wider IT team to ensure written applications can be hosted and supported.
- Using development tools to manage the process, version control and release of code.
- Actively participate in in-house development activity, working closely with Business Analysts and Service Desk colleagues ensuring adequate specification, testing and implementation and support documentation is created.
- Actively engaging stakeholders to ensure requirements are understood and demonstrate newly written and designed user interfaces and applications.
- Keeping up to date with technical skills and industry trends.
- Creating complex databases and applications for internal colleague use.
- Receiving project briefs and conducting work with minimum supervision.
- Contribute to the design and planning of larger projects.
- Ability to learn new languages and technologies.
- Knowledge of coding languages mainly within the Microsoft stack, Visual Studio, C#, Dot Net, SQL Server, Internet Information Services
- Experience with databases, Microsoft SQL Server, Reporting Services, Web Development, ASP.Net, HTML, PHP, CSS and JavaScript.
