Overview of the role
As Warehouse Operative you will be picking orders using a handheld order scanner, checking picks against orders, packing orders appropriately. You will also be replenishing/stock rotation. Accepting goods and booking in stock using the scanner and booking in system.
Main Responsibility
- Feeding totes onto the conveyor
- Picking orders using the wrist order terminal
- Picking stock from bulk locations
- Manually checking orders at checking bench
- Packing orders appropriately to ensure safe delivery to the customer
- Placing order in the relevant run cage for delivery
- Replenish bins once empty with new stock
- Cleaning work area to maintain a clean & safe working environment
- Accepting goods through deliveries
- Booking stock in using scanners and other methods of technology
- Ensuring stock is put away in the correct bin.
- Dealing with returns and queries, ensuring stock is put away for re-sale
- Rotating stock as per first expired, first out (FEFO) principle.
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- General Housekeeping
Key knowledge and skills required for the role:
- Basic reading & numeracy skills
- Flexible approach to day to day tasks
- Good attention to detail
- Ability to work at heights (use kick stools, climb ladders)
- Excellent time and attendance records
