Treasury Analyst

Overview of the role

As the Treasury Analyst you will provide the Group Treasurer with analytical support in relation to cashflow forecasting, and bank statement transactions – identifying trends and areas for improvement. In addition, you will be expected to support the current Treasury Analyst and the SSC team in accurate reconciliation of all cash & bank activity across all cash books, investigating discrepancies and agreeing the appropriate resolution with the Group Treasurer, ensuring cash and bank controls and processes are adhered to, ensuring financial integrity is maintained at all times.

The role is hybrid working with 3 days in the office, and 2 days working from home.

Main Responsibility

  • Prepare, analyse & monitor both long- and short-term cash forecasts to identify areas for action.
  • Report Cash & Bank KPIs on a weekly basis
  • Liaise with Risk Management auditors to support queries.
  • Responsible for the review of period end reconciliation of all cash and bank accounts, all other cash related debtors and debtors and any other balance sheet reconciliation as requested by the Group Treasurer.
  • Responsible for all documentation of cash and bank processes, including regular reviews and cross training as required. Act as a subject matter expert on OA8 (cash book module), identifying areas for improvement to processes and controls to improve efficiency.
  • Support SSC team with the raising of Payment runs for all AP ledgers, Commissions, Foreign and Sundry payment, ensure they have the correct level of authorisation in line with Company policy before they are uploaded onto the online banking system.
  • Cover/support SSC Treasury team as required, mainly:
    • Reconcile all branch cash takings to the bank statement on a weekly basis, identifying and investigating variances liaising with Loomis and/or branches. Manage the import of all branch credit card and Amex transactions and reconcile to the bank statement on a weekly basis, managing and investigating variances with the bank/Mastercard/Amex
    • Responsible for the month end cashbook close
    • Reconcile all the transactions on the bank statement daily, ensuring customer receipts are posted to AR, supplier payments/DDs are posted to AP and other receipts and payments are coded correctly.

Key knowledge and skills required for the role:

  • Analytical skills are key, with a flare for turning data into information.
  • Studying AAT or intention to study Treasury qualifications (preferable)
  • Excellent excel skills and confident in using excel and finance systems (Open Accounts, EBIS, Bluebox)
  • Previous experience of working in a Treasury/Cash & Bank role working with high volumes of transactions is a must.
  • Must be a team player.
  • Have an eye for detail, good at problem solving and comfortable working with a high volume of data on a daily basis.

Problem solving & change:

  • Manage multiple bank accounts and cash books, multiple varied payment types and revenue streams. High volume of cash and credit card transactions to be reconciled on a daily/weekly basis.
  • Analysing trends
  • Can make informed decisions regarding the treatment of unusual items and the correction of errors.
  • Makes recommendations to improve processes.
  • Be flexible to the needs of a rapidly growing business.
