The Prescription Administrator will be responsible for receiving, matching and processing prescriptions, in line with full compliance of data protection and GDPR legislation. They are responsible to identify and realise the maximum income for the Company from the PPA daily, keeping the outstanding debt to a minimum, and paying generated commission to external Pharmacy/GPs accounts on time. Proactively identifying problem accounts and working with internal and external account managers to resolve. They will proactively spot patterns and problems, seeing where we can change our processes, tools or services to improve the customer experience
The core hours for this role are Monday - Friday 11AM - 5PM (30 hours per week). Flexibility is required as you will occasionally need to support with overtime (paid at hourly rate) between the hours of 9am - 6/30pm.
Main Responsibility
- Responsible for keeping up to date with all current Legal legislation, to ensure all patient data/information is handled confidentially, minimising any risk to the Business.
- Actively ensure through their own time management/workload the maximum number of prescriptions are matched to the orders and processed daily to ensure we are re-imbursed by the PPA in line with monthly budgeted expectations.
- To receive and verify the accuracy and authenticity of prescriptions, accurately auditing all corresponding paperwork, escalating any identified issues to the team leader
- To ensure all data is matched correctly when completing patient EPS nominations in Analyst/PMR, adhering to strict access and confidentiality compliance
- Ensure that feedback and complaints are dealt with, recorded, and escalated as appropriate in line with our regulatory and NHS obligations providing recommendations for the timely resolution of all escalated queries from both the internal/external estate.
- Work collaboratively to resolve all customer/patient queries across multiple departments both at HSC and Manchester.
- Be a subject matter expert on prescription endorsement to ensure robust compliance processes are adhered to, identifying any areas for improvement.
- Identify and report promptly to the team manager any problem accounts.
- Work with multiple processes and systems to enable the correct commission payments to be made on time.
- Utilise external workflow systems to secure prescriptions for order on Analyst/PMR system, maintaining patient confidentiality
The Ideal Candidate
The sucecssful candidate will have previous experience in an administrative role and an excellent eye for detail. In addition, we are looking for:
- Knowledge of current Legal Legislation around Data Protection and GDPR
- Excellent communication/negotiation skills
- Experience of credits/debits
- Demonstrates a high attention to detail and accuracy
- Experience of using Microsoft programmes
- Experience of multiple external systems
